Curiosity Collective Meetings
The next get together is Tuesday 16th February in Ipswich from 8pm - we’ll be in the Green Room at McGinty’s again opposite the library on Northgate Street, Ipswich.
Much to talk about mostly the Maker Faire in Newcastle and the walk there! Think we’ll have a go at trying out some curious navigation tech in preparation - I’ve got a few things I can bring ; )

The next get together is Tuesday, 2nd February in Ipswich from 8pm. We’re the guests of IP1 this week at their offices (43c Buttermarket, IP1 1BJ - map). From the street go through the “Blue Arrow” door, up two flights of stairs and it’s at the end of the corridor. BYO drinks and nibbles.
We’ll be chatting about the Dark Show and thinking about Maker Faire.

The next get together is Tuesday 1st December in Ipswich from 8pm - we’ll be in the Green Room at McGinty’s again opposite the library on Northgate Street, Ipswich. Not the 2nd as I previously mistyped!
Should be a good one - I know there’s been a bunch of things happening - bring anything you what to show. I’ve even got something to show that should be finished and working! We also need to work out what we’re doing for the next Maker Faire in Newcastle and what merriment we might have around the Winter solstice. And of course how things are progressing on the Dark Show - so we’ll have a first go at making a list of likely pieces and sorting some details out for the publicity.

The next get together is Tuesday 20th October in Ronnie’s Bar upstairs in McGinty’s opposite the library on Northgate Street, Ipswich from 8pm.
This time around the we’ll be thinking mostly about the forthcoming Dark Show (working title) in St Mary’s - curious tech in the cold and dark!
The idea is that this is more of a short residency - so we go into the space on the first weekend spend the week finding out what works well within it. Then show the results on the second weekend.
Unfortunately I can’t be there in person, but hope to join by the wonders of the technological age. If you can’t be there either but want to be involved in the show - please drop me an email - dave_chatting at mac.com

On Tuesday, 6th October we got together as guests of IP1 at their offices.
Matthew told us all about his recent adventures at Interface Amnesty in Liverpool - see his blog. One of the people Matthew met was The Amazing Rolo of WiiLoopMachine fame - he was showing his new Jam Jar Gelkies:
Dave is thinking about distributed displays at the moment and we watched an impressive video of Megascreen at Assembly ‘08:

On Tuesday, 22nd September we got together again in McGinty’s.
Mark Dixon told us all about his recent work with the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway, creating art along its route.
Cefn‘s been working with the tinker.it guys to create some brilliant 80s inspired hacks for the Nokia N900.
Alex dazzled us (literally) with his super-bright Ethernet RGB LED, a stack of the Arduino + Ethernet Shield + BlinkM MaxM!
We also talked about the changing path of the river Orwell and ideas for a forthcoming show in the dark, amongst other things! Oh and we decided we “needed” a makerbot!

We’re in McGinty’s, opposite the library on Northgate Street, Ipswich from 8pm - we’ll be upstairs in Ronnie’s Bar - that’s directly above the main bar
There’s plenty to discuss: walking to Newcastle, Ars Electronica, fairy stories (a new theme), uselessness and the psychogeography of Ipswich (starting with the ghost tour). Also hoping to have something to show for my adventures with video processing on the Arduino… perhaps! Please bring anything you’ve been working on too.
