On Tuesday, 22nd September we got together again in McGinty’s.

Mark Dixon told us all about his recent work with the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway, creating art along its route.

Cefn‘s been working with the tinker.it guys to create some brilliant 80s inspired hacks for the Nokia N900.

Ethernet RGB LED

Alex dazzled us (literally) with his super-bright Ethernet RGB LED, a stack of the Arduino + Ethernet Shield + BlinkM MaxM!

We also talked about the changing path of the river Orwell and ideas for a forthcoming show in the dark, amongst other things! Oh and we decided we “needed” a makerbot!

Curiosity Get Together - 25th August - McGinty’s

The next get together is next Tuesday, 25th August.

We’re in McGinty’s, opposite the library on Northgate Street, Ipswich from 8pm - we’ll be upstairs in Ronnie’s Bar - that’s directly above the main bar

There’s plenty to discuss: walking to Newcastle, Ars Electronica, fairy stories (a new theme), uselessness and the psychogeography of Ipswich (starting with the ghost tour). Also hoping to have something to show for my adventures with video processing on the Arduino… perhaps! Please bring anything you’ve been working on too.

Cheers, hope to see you there,
Dave

Horarum - sound installation at St Mary’s Church - Debenham

John and Mike have been busy with their Horarum at St Mary’s Church, Debenham, for the Debenham Arts Festival.

Horarum is an audio installation in the church porch such that the audience listens to the sound of the church clock ticking picked up by microphones in the tower and relayed via computer to speakers in the porch.

It is open throughout the festival (9th to 12th July) - apart from Saturday afternoon when there is a wedding in the church, and on Sunday morning.
