interaction via camera

We’ve talked a fair bit about different ways you can use a camera feed to interact with a piece -
PIXEL SNOW
is a nice example from Francis Lam (MIT, Media Lab) using Processing, as are the projects at www.setpixel.com.

The new version of Flash (version 8) allows you to embed interactive pieces into webpages which is very cool - if you have a webcam, install the new flash and look here.

You can use Mobiola Web Camera http://www.warelex.com/products/mobiola/ and your smartphone to work with this Flash if you doesn’t have a webcam.

Shame I can’t get any webcam flash apps to work on the mac with iSight :( mind you flash runs like a dog anyway on the mac.

Spent a while getting the latest version of Flash (from mid-September) and it’s MUCH better.

You have to right click and select the iSight deep inside the Macromedia preferences, since it selects a non-existent video channel by default, but IT WORKS!

Been experimenting with processing tonight, based on the tutorial materials here http://www.jtnimoy.com/itp/p5/workshop/ because they’ve removed tutorial material from the frontpage.
